Amazon's flagship Nova model and its speech sibling, launched at re:Invent 2024 as AWS's answer to frontier models. Both entered Legacy status in March 2026 and reached end of life on September 14 — inside two years. AWS migrated nothing automatically; Legacy models also cut off any customer inactive for 15 days, so some accounts lost access before the deadline arrived.
Collateral damage: No automatic migration. Provisioned Throughput could not be renewed, and accounts idle for 15 days lost access early.
