All three Imagen 4.0 variants on the Gemini API (generate, ultra and fast) died in under 14 months, after Google already slipped the date once. The best part was the exit signage: the pricing-page banner told users to migrate to Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, which was itself deprecated, with a shutdown since pushed to no earlier than March 15, 2027.
