The engine behind the original ChatGPT and the model that started it all. Its first API snapshots (gpt-3.5-turbo-0301, -0613 and -16k-0613) were shut down on September 13, 2024, and gpt-3.5-turbo-1106 followed on September 28, 2026. The last one, gpt-3.5-turbo-0125, which still answered to the bare gpt-3.5-turbo name, was shut down on October 23, 2026 along with every fine-tune built on it: almost four years after ChatGPT launched on it.
