OpenAI's April 23 flagship left ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and Codex on every plan on October 14, 174 days after launch. Codex users on paid plans were pointed to GPT-6 Sol and Free and Go users to GPT-6 Luna, both 'when available'. The API keeps gpt-5.5, and Azure lists it until October 26, 2027, so the model outlives its place in ChatGPT by a year.
