The community voice-cloning and AI-music platform where thousands of celebrity and character voice models lived. Weights announced in January 2026 that it had never been profitable and closed on March 31; two months later The New York Times reported that OpenAI had bought its technology and roughly six engineers in an unannounced deal. Its library of consent-free celebrity voices had become a liability as deepfake laws tightened: the thing that made it popular was the thing that made it unsellable as a product.
Collateral damage: Voice models not exported as .pth/.index files before March 31 are gone; the platform kept no archive.
